Glenda Jean's Kitchen

We were excited to build a warm welcoming kitchen space in memory of  Glenda Jean Benson.

Glenda Jean spent time cooking in camp for groups of up to 80 men. Some of her families favorite personal recipes are being re-created here, including her delectable Gingersnap cookies made with her recommended blackstrap molasses. Glenda Jean cooked in such large quantities that in her "Sticky Jimmy" recipe (puffed wheat squares) she has written down to mix them in a "5 gallon pail" .

The abundance from our gardens and Teddy's Orchard will make its way here into hearty, nutrient rich dishes.
